Toronto Community Housing Board to hear directly from tenants

TORONTO, April 18, 2011 – Toronto Community Housing’s Board of Directors will host a series of four Town Hall sessions in April to hear first-hand from tenants about concerns they have with their communities and the services Toronto Community Housing provides.

Approved as a pilot during its February 2012 meeting, the Board Town Halls will focus on four key issues:

Raising $335 million to improve housing state of repair On October 21, 2011, Toronto Community Housing's Board of Directors will consider a recommendation to sell 706 stand-alone housing units that are expensive to maintain and repair and dedicating the estimated $335 million in sales proceeds to a State of Good Repair fund that will be used strictly to pay for capital repairs.
